I woke up one morning to the sound of a high fan of my desktop, in black screen, and all I can see are the words "Operating System Not Found". I remember I had the computer do a full scan, which usually take 2-3 hrs, and set it to auto restart after it is done scanning. I'm expecting that in the morning I'll see the scan logs but was surprised to see such scary words.
I'm no computer expert, but I believe I'm not a beginner when it comes to computer repairs since I've been running computer shops for quite awhile and had quite a lot of chances in the past to repair computers, but this is the first time I've seen such error.
I did everything possible to my knowledge. When all my efforts failed, I resorted to searching the net for help with my laptop, to no avail. I followed every step I saw in the net and still I get the same error everytime I open the computer. I'm terribly in need of help.
Before the system error, the computer is running on Windows XP SP3. I have just reformatted the PC barely a week ago so its guaranteed to be virus free, as I have installed an anti-virus program in it as well. It's working fine until the error horrified me one morning.
I did all the possible BIOS settings methodically. Tried a CMOS jumper, tried an XP Recovery Console, tried re-installing a new operating system, tried a new hard disk drive, tried booting on USB and CD, and when all failed, I put things back to default, but still I'm out of luck. I read in some forums that a partition maybe the reason for such error, but I don't have the means to check if my partitioned drives are working properly since the computer won't start. Also, I doubt if my partitions are the culprit since same partitions are working on my other computer and yet the rest of them are running except for that one.
I badly need help. If you have good suggestions, please help me. And thanks in advance.
